About The Band
Our Mission
The Wilkerson Band is a Los Angeles based husband‑and‑wife duo bringing classic folk, rock, ballads, Tex‑Mex and Zydeco to life with a warm, acoustic sound. Beverly sings and plays baritone ukulele, while Ron adds vocals and musette accordion for a rich blend.
To create the feel of a full band, Ron composes backing tracks with bass, drums and additional instrumentation, played through the PA during live shows. The duo can perform anywhere — from small busker‑style gigs to larger venues with a full sound system.
Their setlist features timeless favorites from The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Donovan, Roy Orbison, Texas Tornados, Peter Paul & Mary, Hank Williams, Eric Clapton, Harry Belafonte and more — inviting audiences to sing along, dance, and enjoy the classics.
About The INSTRUMENTS
Why The Accordion?
After years of playing keyboards in bands, Ron chose the accordion as his main instrument for The Wilkerson Band. Hearing how players like Flaco Jiménez and Clifton Chenier used accordion in Zydeco and Tex‑Mex made him realize how expressive and versatile it can be — especially when paired with Beverly’s baritone ukulele.
The accordion can act like a piano, organ, violin section, or even lead guitar. Ron’s musette accordions have a rich, shimmering tone similar to a 12‑string guitar, adding a unique flavor to the duo’s sound. Listen to our tracks and you’ll hear exactly why this instrument works so well.
